LEWISTON – Ruth G. Coleman, 92, of Plummer St., Auburn, died Friday morning, Feb. 23, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with her family at her side.

Born in South Boston, Mass., on April 2, 1914, she was a daughter to the late George and Mary (Pitts) Seibel. She was a 1933 graduate of New Gloucester High School.

She married her first husband, Oscar Gagnon, in 1936, and later married Roy Coleman in 1950. Ruth was a well known waitress in the Lewiston-Auburn area, working for many years at Nichol’s Tea Room.

After her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering her time at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and Good Shepherd Food-Bank. She also enjoyed knitting, reading and a good game of Scrabble.

She leaves her son, Peter Gagnon and his wife, Faye, of Minot; two grandsons, Chad Gagnon of Malden, Mass., and Josh Gagnon and his wife, Nicole, of Portsmouth, N.H.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Coleman; her two sisters, Dot Harkins and Gladys Bowie; and three brothers, George, Herbert and Chester Seibel.
