AUBURN – Victor R. Crawford, 86, of Mexico, died Feb. 22 in Auburn.

He was born Jan. 18, 1921, in Rumford, the son of Norman and Mary (McKay) Crawford. He graduated from Mexico High School in 1939.

He married Theresa Roy on Nov. 28, 1953, at St. Theresa’s Church in Mexico. He was a member of the church and served on the parish council. He enjoyed attending morning Mass and joking with his friends after Mass.

He operated Vic’s Riverside Station, Mexico, until his retirement. He loved doing carpentry work, trips with his family and sitting on his sunporch. He loved his family time.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Theresa; a son, Robert Jackson and his wife, Kim, of Kansas; a daughter, Janna Schuster and her husband, Bill, of Peru; a daughter, Lisa Puiia and her husband, Mario, of Rumford; a son, Lee Crawford of Mexico; a stepson, Alfred Roy and his companion, Faye Philbrick, of Roxbury; grandchildren, Corinna, Shawn, Robyn, Karyn and Kayla (Pop’s little angel); nine great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Wayne Smith and his wife, Michelle.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Eileen Smith.
