EAST JAY – Gerard F. Greenleaf Sr., 64, of East Jay, died unexpectedly, late Friday evening, Feb. 23, at his home.

He was born April 11, 1942, in Dryden, a son of Hershel and Mazie (Ober) Greenleaf Sr. and attended Wilton schools.

In August 1967, he married Christine Black.

Gerard worked as an autobody technician at various shops throughout his life, which included Morton Motors, Hilltop Collision, Begins, Louis Chevrolet and again Hilltop in Jay, from where he retired.

He was a member of the Wilton Masonic Lodge and a 26-year member of the Farmington Elks Lodge.

He was an avid New England Patriots fan, enjoyed Saturday night dances with his wife and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Gerard’s true passion was the time he was able to spend at his camp fishing on Spring Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Christine, of nearly 40 years; a son, Gerard “Jerry” Greenleaf Jr. and his wife, Julie, of Dixfield, and their children, Alix and Kaitlyn; three daughters, Lisa Hubbard and her husband, Eddie, of Windsor, and their children, Mike and Lauren, Lorna Collins and her husband, Craig, of East Wilton, and their children Megan, Miranda and Isaac, and Gale Durrell and her boyfriend, Mark Brackett, of Jay, and her children, Felicia and Sara; two brothers, Hershel Greenleaf Jr. and his wife, Jean, of Winthrop, and Kermit Greenleaf and his wife, Trudy, of North Jay.

He was predeceased by his parents.
