FARMINGTON – Angels from heaven swooped down Saturday, Feb. 24, and took Sandra M. Cochran, 51, of North Jay up to the Lord from Sandy River Nursing Care Center in Farmington. Her loving sister was by her side day and night, caring for her. Also many of her friends.

She was born, March 1, 1955, in Farmington, a daughter of Douglas and Phyllis (Smith) Cochran Sr. She attended Jay schools and later graduated from UMF.

She loved flower and vegetable gardening and sharing the fruits of her labor with friends and neighbors. She was a wonderful cook and beloved friend to all who knew her, especially her daughter, Stacey. She enjoyed all family gatherings. She was a lifetime member of the VFW in Jay.

She is survived by her companion, Robert Metcalf of Jay; her mother, Phyllis Cochran and her husband, Kenneth Imlay, of North Jay; a daughter, Stacey Cochran of Jay and her father, Richard “Hunky” Wilson of Jay; two brothers, Douglas “Dusty” Cochran Jr. of Carthage and Steve Cochran of North Jay; a sister, Vickie Ayer and her husband, Bryant, of Mercer; a grandson, Derek Remington; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and special cousins.

She was predeceased by her father.
