LEWISTON – Young Professionals of the Lewiston Auburn Area have raised money for the group’s efforts to create a more vibrant business community and help area nonprofit agencies.

More than 100 YPLAA professionals attended a recent Maineiacs game. Working with the team’s “Chuck-a-Puck fundraiser, and from a portion of the ticket proceeds that night, the organization netted more than $675.

After the game, the group’s members networked at the Colisee’s lounge.

“It was great to see so much support for YPLAA … both from YPLAA members by attending the game, and by ticket holders who purchased pucks,” said Jennifer Moulton, communications director for the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce and program director for YPLAA.

YPLAA supports nonprofit groups throughout the community. It has more than 300 members, many actively involved with nonprofit boards and advisory committees.

To learn more about YPLAA, become a member or to mentor a young professional, contact Moulton at the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce at 783-2249 or at [email protected].

Its goal is to develop members, position them for new career opportunities and engage them civically to make the area a better place. Anyone 18 to 40 who lives or works in the Lewiston-Auburn area is welcome.
