Fishing derby

LIVERMORE – The largest trout by weight will be the winner of a fishing derby to be held from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Round and Long ponds. Organized by Jobs for Maine’s Graduates of Livermore Falls, the group will donate funds raised by the derby to the Norlands Living History Center.

Registration will be held from 6 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Long Pond boat launch on Route 4. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for ages 16 and under.

Church luncheon

FARMINGTON – The Old South First Congregational Church will serve its monthly free community luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 10. The menu will include beef stew, rolls with butter and pie.

Delivery service will be available in the Farmington area. Call the church office at 778-0424 during the week or the church kitchen at 778-4438 on the morning of the luncheon for meal delivery.

Benefit concert

FARMINGTON – The Mt. Blue Jazz Band and the Mt. Blue Voices will perform a benefit concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 11, in the Mt. Blue High School auditorium. Attendance is free, but donations will be accepted.

Proceeds will fund the new high school music theory lab. The lab will consist of a computer, keyboard, recording equipment, software and security cabinet.
