LEWISTON – Randolph George Bourisk, 81, of Winthrop, died Sunday, Feb. 25, at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Sanford on Dec. 13, 1925, the son of Frank and Lillian (Afastan) Bourisk.
He was educated in Lewiston schools and in 1949, worked with his father, Frank, at Frank Bourisk and Son, a jewelry and watch repair shop.
On Aug. 26, 1943, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served during World War II until his honorable discharge on April 9, 1946, achieving the rank of Torpedoman’s Mate Second Class.
After his service to his country, he married Edna Gibson in 1947.
He was employed for 30 years as parts manager at Harleys “R” Us in Lewiston until his retirement.
He kept busy repairing watches and clocks well into his retirement.
In the early 1970s, he was instrumental in founding the Winthrop Teen Club, along with four other parents.
He was a member of Chapter 89 Clocks and the American Legion Alfred W. Maxwell Jr. Post No. 40 in Winthrop.
He loved playing pool and participated in many pool tournaments over the years. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing and making wine.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Bourisk, of Winthrop; his four sons, Gary Bourisk and wife, Terry, of Winthrop, Jeff Bourisk of Winthrop, Rick Bourisk and companion, LeeAnne Mercier, of Auburn, and Tobey Bourisk and wife, Vicky, of Portland; his daughter, Shelley Bourisk and companion, Steve Gaboury, of Winthrop; his five grandchildren, Mitchell, Maila, Jessica, Angela and Christopher; and his two great-grandchildren, Jada and Lilly.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Nick and Louie; and five sisters, Hazel, Katherine, Edna, Gladys, and Shirley.
