LEWISTON – Mary Orestis Moscovis, 90, of 472 Webber Ave., Lewiston, died Monday, Feb. 26, at Russell Park Manor.
Born in Nashua, N.H., on March 28, 1916, she was the daughter of Vasilios and Katina Papathan Orestis. Educated locally, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ’34.
In 1940, she married John M. Moscovis, who passed away on Dec. 25, 1957. A member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, she enjoyed reading, flower gardening, cooking, and crocheting.
Survivors include a son, Michael and wife, Sandra, of Fairfax County, Va.; a daughter, Eugenia Moscovis, of Lewiston; a granddaughter, Christa and husband, Patrick Denny, of Manassas, Va.; a great-granddaughter, Cora Denny; two sisters-in-law, Toni Orestis, of Auburn, and Doris Orestis, of Litchfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Christos, George, John and Alexander Orestis.
