GULF SHORES, Ala. – Susie (Obrin) Dobransky, 88, beloved wife of the late Andrew P. Dobransky Jr., died Sunday, Feb. 25, in Gulf Shores, Ala.

She was born in Pejepscot, the daughter of Joseph Obrin and Anna Popadak. Susie lived in Pejepscot for more than 70 years, and later in the Barrons Hill apartments in Topsham.

She worked at the Topsham mill of the Pejepscot Paper Co. for more than 20 years. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Church in Pejepscot, where she sang in the choir for most of her life. Her family considered her the best Slovak nut roll and horseshoe maker in the area.

She was a member of the 1918 Club, Merrymeeters, Evergreens and Catholic Sokol.

She leaves three loving children, Robert Dobransky of Leominster, Mass., Sylvia O’Connor of Gulf Shores, Ala., and Monica Burke of Winthrop, Mass.; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
