LEWISTON – Theresa Mae Lothrop, 62, of Dixfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, at CMMC in Lewiston, after a short but valiant battle with cancer, surrounded by members of her extended family.
She was born Aug. 13, 1944, in Rumford, the daughter of George and Irene (Langevin) Arsenault. She was a graduate of Stephens High School, in Rumford. On Aug. 15, 1970, she married Doug Lothrop Sr., in Dixfield. She was a homemaker, and worked part time at Wardwells and Au Jewelers. She was an ardent bingo player and enjoyed many trips to Foxwoods Casino and Atlantic City. In 2005, she was treated for a brain aneurysm and stroke at a Boston Hospital. She was recovering from that when struck down with cancer. She was cared for by her husband, and her sister, Corrine, during this period.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Doug Lothrop, Sr., of Dixfield; two daughters, Debbie Gorham, and her husband, Joey, of Rumford, and Tania Adams and her husband, Lenny, of Dixfield; three sons, Doug Jr. and his wife, Julie, of Rumford, Steve and his companion, Dawn Weeks, of Portland, and Randy, and his wife Kim, of Lewiston; nine sisters, Bunny and Maurice Pache, of Mexico, Corrine Prendergast, of Dixfield, Jeanette, and Peter Smith, of Gray, Elizabeth, and Bob Bates, of Bethel, Patty Arsenault, of Rumford, Collette Aaron, of Rumford, Suzanne and Richard Whitehouse, of Chesterville, Linda Arsenault, of Claremont, N.H., and Estelle Harrington and Ralph, of Newry; five brothers, Fred and Francis, of Rumford, Jean, of Mexico, Linwood and his wife, Joanne, of Litchfield, and Richard and Elaine Arsenault, of West Buxton; a brother-in-law, Wayne Lothrop, of Florida; and sisters-in-law, Bette Anterra, of Colorado, and Shirley Lothrop, of South Berwick; nine grandchildren, Alyssa Hurtubise, Hanson Gorham, Addie-Jo Gorham, Kari Lothrop, Michaela Lothrop, Brittany Moore, Nina Moore, Noah Adams and Camron Lothrop; and several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her family and many close friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. DeLuca, the doctors and staff at Rumford Hospital, CMMC, and their many friends from Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for their professional care.
She was predeceased by her mother and father; a sister, Marie Anastasio; and a brother-in-law, Robert Lothrop.
