SOUTHBRIDGE, MASS. – Alfred J. LeBlanc, age 83, a resident of Guelphwood Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Meadows of Leicester.
He was born in Mexico, the son of Alyre and Quieta (St. Onge) LeBlanc. He was a graduate of Worcester Junior College, with an associates degree in industrial management.
On July 20, 1946 he married Rose E. Henry, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. She passed away in 1992. He and his wife moved to Southbridge in 1951, where he worked for American Optical for many years, retiring from Worcester Control as a machinist. He also drove for Elder Bus for many years.
He was a member of the Quinebaug Lodge of Masons, the Doric Chapter R.A.M., Hiriam Council and Worcester Commandery Number 5. He was also a member of the Melha Shriners of Springfield, the Hadji and the Model-T Unit. He enjoyed fishing, participating in the parades for the Shriners in his miniature Model-T fire truck, and flying radio controlled planes. He was a member of Notre Dame Church of Southbridge, and also attended St. Hedwig’s Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Hilda Cohen, of Layfayette Hill, Pa.; and two brothers, Raymond LeBlanc, of Jay, and Rene LeBlanc, of Canton.
