Richard Barnard of Livermore Falls looks over his ice fishing trap on Long Pond in Livermore on Thursday afternoon. “The fish have been rather slow,” Barnard said. “In 10 trips out I’ve gotten one keeper.” That was a bass, which weighed 2 pounds, 11 ounces. Regardless, Barnard said he was enjoying the sunny day before an expected snowstorm rolled into Maine on Thursday night. “I would live on the pond if I could,” he said.
