Lewiston – Philip I. Morse, age 73, a resident of Livermore Terrace Apts., in Livermore Falls, died unexpectedly, Thur., March 1, at Central Maine Medical Center, in Lewiston.
He was born in Livermore Falls, the son of Fred and Melvina (Welch) Morse. He was educated in Livermore Falls Schools.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked in several local shoe shops and at International Paper Co., Otis Mill, in Jay.
He enjoyed country music and all county fairs, especially the Fryeburg Fair. He also loved dancing at the local dance halls.
He is survived by one son, George, and his wife, Tracy of Milo; one daughter, Irene Rose, of Wilton; four sisters, Beverly Hlista, and husband, Joe, of Toms River, N.J., Phyllis Pease, and husband, Lee, of Wilton, Lorraine Merchant, and husband, Joe, of Newport, and Doris Merchant, and husband, Bill, of Livermore Falls; one sister in law, Bertha Morse, of Jay; two grandsons, Stephen and Peter Morse; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother, Clayton Morse, in 2003; a niece, Barbara Dumeny, in 1966; and a nephew, Scott Holmes, in 1966.
