Lewiston – Yvonne A. Raymond, 93, formerly of 85 Pond Road, passed away on Thursday, March 1, at Russell Park.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 3, 1913, the daughter of Joseph and Philomene Bourgoin Levesque. She was educated in local schools and was married to Alphonse J. Raymond, who predeceased her Nov. 9, 1977.

She was employed in local textile mills, and later as a chef in area nursing homes. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Parish.

She was a classical pianist and played in her father’s orchestra. She gave of herself to the fullest when it came to her children. She will be remembered as a most wonderful mother. She sang French songs to her children at bedtime ,and often sang “Ne fait jamais pleurer ta mere!” She was also a gourmet cook and loved dancing and knitting.

She is survived by six daughters, Irene Delorme and husband, Rosaire, of Lewiston, Doris Fisher and husband, Joseph, of Sabattus, Noella Robert and husband, Michael, of Lewiston, Rita Dorrington and husband, Allen, of Auburn, Patricia Putman and husband, Roger, of Gardiner, and Pauline Severino and husband, Daniel, of Pennsylvania; a son, Roger Raymond of Lewiston; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband; and by all of her brothers.
