STRONG – A large, older home on Church Hill Road was destroyed by fire late Friday night. Owner and sole occupant Terry Parker is now staying with relatives, Fire Chief Scott Dyar said. The turn-of-the-century home had an attached barn where the fire started, he said, but the cause of the blaze is undetermined due to the damage. Dyar said the fire was stubborn and hard to get at.
Firefighters were called out at 11:43 p.m. Friday and left the scene at 6:40 a.m. Saturday. Farmington and New Vineyard firefighters assisted with the fire with a total of 55 firefighters at the scene.
