Council to install

AUBURN – Members of Twin City Council 160, United Commercial Travelers of America and Canada, will meet at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Rolandeau’s Restaurant. Installation of officers will be held at that time. All members and guests are welcome. Call Past Grand Counselor Robert Blanchard for reservations.

DAR meeting

SABATTUS – Regent Sheila Desgrosseilliers has announced that Burnt Meadow Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at the home of Violet Gerber at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10. The business meeting and a program on “Colonial Cooking” will be followed by the annual silent auction.

OES supper

WALES – Lakeside Chapter 60, OES, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, for a potluck supper. Members should bring their favorite dish to share.

The annual meeting and election of officers will follow at 7:30 p.m. All members are welcome.

Plan card party

LEWISTON – The Holy Family Ladies of St. Ann Sodality are planning their annual card party at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, in the parish hall, 607 Sabattus St. Anita Grenier is chairwoman and will be assisted by the officers and counselors.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $3 and may be purchased from any of the members or those wishing may call Anita at 782-4516 or Yvette at 782-3722. There will be a raffle, 50/50 and door prizes.

Refreshments will be served. Members and the public are invited.

Scholarship

POLAND – The Scholarship Committee of Excelsior Grange 5 has announced that applications for the Grange scholarship are available from Barbara Driscoll, 21 Maple Lane, Poland, ME 04274, tel. 998-4942, or Sally Fournier, 60 Pleasant St., Mechanic Falls, ME 04256, tel. 345-9076.

Applicants must be a grange member or related to a member of Excelsior Grange, and applications must be received by April 30. The scholarship winner will notified by May 31. The award will be made after the successful completion of the first semester.

Festival reset

LISBON – The District III Sixth-Grade Honor Festival, set for March 3, has been rescheduled to Saturday, March 17. The event will be held at 3 p.m. at Lisbon Community School.
