Editor’s note: Every day there are rays of light that shine into the lives of people through their neighbors, their co-workers, their families and even through complete strangers. This column is devoted to exposing these sunbeams to the light and offering readers an opportunity to share good news. We plan to occasionally offer up our own sunbeams, too.
Thank you, good Samaritans

This is to thank the two kind men who came to my rescue on Jan. 10 at the corner of Main and Hammond streets, at the red light. My truck had lost the fuel pump and they got me off the street.

My thanks to everyone who helped me out that day.

Transportation crew is terrific

My sister and I, and I know many others, would like to thank Western Maine Transportation office crew, van drivers and the volunteer drivers for all they are doing for us elderly. They are very good drivers, friendly and caring to us. There are times when appointments last a little longer than we hoped, but they are there.

The office crew who takes our calls do wonders with all the calls they have to respond to. Keeping track is very hard for them to do. And I want to thank all of them for their help.

So please everyone, thank them for their help. We need them. Life without them would not be as pleasant as it is.

Thank you Western Maine, and City-Link.

Hospice is a great resource

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for the excellent care and support our father George Dewey Taylor received during his recent illness. This agency provided our whole family with the needed services to care for our father in our home until his death.

This was his wish and our promise to him shortly after his illness was diagnosed. The services of Tammy Bean RN, Penny Dennison RN, Bonney Cochran, Laura Allen, Taren Bate, Lynn Ellis LSW and Rev. John Gensel made this promise a reality. We will forever be thankful for their unending dedication, excellent care and support.

This was a most painful time for our family and their support and encouragement made it less painful. Our community is very fortunate to have such a great resource available to those that need it.
