AUBURN – Central Maine Community college corporate and community services will continue its series of workshops for nonprofits with “Board Development” (CCS 079-01) and “Strategic Planning” (CCS 075-01).

“Board Development” will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, March 14. The cost is $65 and includes materials.

Participants will gain an understanding of why the most effective nonprofit organizations are those with direction and assistance from an effective board of directors. Participants will learn more about the roles that the board and board members play and how board participation makes a difference in the success of voluntary organizations.

“Strategic Planning” will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, March 21. The cost of $65 includes materials. The workshop will help organizations ask themselves how they can do better and provide them with tools to help them choose what to do and how to get it done.

The workshops will be facilitated by Christos Gianopoulos. Gianopoulos has assisted business professionals and other committed individuals to clarify their thinking about the direction and management of their enterprises.

He has decades of experience in personal and professional development, leadership of community initiatives and teaching. He has been a project director for nonprofit organizations such as Maine Audubon Society and the Maine Lyceum.

A graduate of Bowdoin College, he also holds graduate degrees from American University and Syracuse University.
