TWO WEB SITES: A probe by the Connecticut attorney general centers on two nearly identical Best Buy Web sites – the one available to the public, the other only to employees – that featured varying prices on some merchandise.

THE BEST BUY?: The investigation was launched after some consumers complained that Best Buy employees cited the higher prices on the internal Web site to deny them bargains found at the public BestBuy.com.

WAS IT AN ACCIDENT?: The company maintains that any employee who cited higher prices from the internal Web site was mistaken and that the company never intentionally misled customers.
