LISBON – Principal Rick Green of Philip W. Sugg Middle School announced the second-quarter student achievement awards on Feb. 27. The second of four awards for the year, both recipients were eighth-grade students.

Green congratulated Stephanie Norwood and Tobey Harrington for their outstanding achievements.

Green shared some of the nomination comments, such as:

“Stephanie is tuning into a true leader. She has a very busy schedule, both in and outside of school. Stephanie has a very caring heart and sweet personality and is always finding ways to help others.”

“Tobey excels in his academics and strives to go above and beyond. He is polite, respectful and responsible.”

Norwood is the daughter of Sheryl Norwood of Lisbon and Gary Norwood of Sabattus. She is a junior volunteer at the school and at Lisbon Community School and is secretary of the Sugg Student Council.

Harrington is the son of Timberly and Tom Harrington of Lisbon. He participates in a number of extracurricular activities.

Students are nominated by teachers for overall academic standings and various areas of student fellowship and accomplishments. The awards are sponsored by members of the Lisbon Rotary Club.
