Sunday sermon

FARMINGTON – The Rev. Susan Crane will discuss “How can we make God’s purposes more of a priority?” at the 10:30 a.m. worship Sunday, March 11, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church. Sunday school classes for all ages is at 9 a.m.

Sunrise service

FARMINGTON – An Easter sunrise service, sponsored by the Farmington Area Ecumenical Ministry, will be held at approximately 6:09 a.m. Sunday, April 8, on Voter Hill. All are welcome.

The half-hour service will be held no matter what the weather. Following the service, all are invited indoors for muffins and beverages at the home of Fred and Denise Brittain (formerly the home of Paul and Sue Taylor). This year’s continental breakfast will be served by members of a local FAEM church.

Dinner/dance

JAY – The Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335, 64 Jewell St., is sponsoring a St. Patrick’s Day dinner and dance on Saturday, March 17. Proceeds will benefit veterans participating in the VFW Department of Maine statewide bowling tournament scheduled for later this month in Augusta.

A dinner of ham and cabbage with all the fixings will be served from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by a dance with the band Forefront from 8 p.m. to midnight.
