AUBURN – Normand H. Cote, 56, of 85 Howe St., Auburn, died at The Hospice House in Auburn on Tuesday, March 6.

He was born in Lewiston on September 23, 1950, the son of the late Leo Cote and Marie-Jeanne (Dulac) Cote. He attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1969.

Upon graduation he served in the Air National Guard for six years. He married the love of his life, the former Lorraine Bergeron on July 18th, 1970.

He was a gifted mechanic, welder and general fix it man. He worked for Snow Tire Co., L & A Tire Co., W.D. Matthews Machinery, and most recently for Lewiston Water & Sewer Dept.

He enjoyed watching cooking shows and would try out various recipes he learned. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. If you ever called upon him, and countless did throughout his life, he was there without fail putting your needs second to his. His true passion in his life was his family and friends and he made our world a better place for it.

Normand is survived by his ex-wife and best friend, Lorraine Cote; his daughter, Pamela and her husband, Mark Vaillancourt; his son, Jeffrey Cote and his companion, Rebecca Topich; his brother, Edward Cote and his wife, Kathleen; his sisters, Rachel Cote, and Vivian and husband, Ray Renner. He is also survived by his brothers-in law, Edward Bergeron and his companion, Lucille Reny, Richard Bergeron and wife, Marianne, and Roland Bergeron; sister-in-law, Therese Bergeron; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

His immediate family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of Central Maine medical Center and The Hospice House for making his final days and moments so peaceful, and for giving his family peace of mind.
