PORTLAND (AP) – Mark Hartigan scored a goal and added two assists while Sebastien Caron made 26 saves as the Portland Pirates beat the Worcester Sharks 4-1 on Wednesday.

The Pirates (27-22-3-8) grabbed an early lead when Geoff Peters scored 7:54 into the first period.

The Sharks (28-24-3-8) tied it after Mike Iggulden scored his 24th goal at 9:53 of the second, but Drew Miller tallied the game-winner on the power play with 7:18 remaining.

Portland iced the contest with third-period goals by Hartigan at 11:12 and Ryan Carter at 12:41.

Peters and Miller also collected an assist apiece in addition to their goals, and Joe Motzko picked up two crucial assists.
