PARIS – Robert C. Raftice, who was indicted in November on sexual assault charges, will serve one year in prison, Judge Roland Cole ruled Monday.

Although Raftice, 20, was ordered to serve two consecutive eight-year sentences on sex offenses, all but one year of the sentence was suspended.

Raftice will also serve 12 years of probation, must register as a sex offender, and have no contact with children under the age of 16.

Raftice, of Sabattus, was arrested Nov. 7 by Maine State Police.

Officers were notified of Raftice’s actions on Sept. 5, when an Oxford County woman filed a complaint with the Mexico Police Department. She stated that Raftice sexually assaulted a boy and a girl.

Raftice initially denied the allegations, but later admitted to inappropriate sexual conduct.

He was charged with gross sexual assault, unlawful sexual conduct and an unrelated violation of conditions of release.
