Farmington – Louise I. Stacy, 85, of Edgewood Manor in Farmington, died on March 8, at the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington following a long illness.

Born Aug. 21, 1920, in Phillips, she was the daughter of Henry and Dorothy (Norton) Scamman. She was educated in the schools of Strong and Phillips, graduating from Phillips High Shcool in the class of 1938.

She married the late Edward Stacy on June 8, 1939, in Phillips. He died on Dec. 16, 1967. She made her home in Howland, later moving to Strong in 1967.

She was a member of the Strong Senior Citizens, and a communicant of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, in Farmington. She enjoyed cooking, the outdoors and all nature.

She is survived by three brothers, Warren Scamman and his wife, Mary, of Winsor, Mass., Allan Scamman of Strong, and Lewis Scamman and his wife, Dianne, of Washington; two sisters, Anna Scamman, of Farmington, and Miriam Fenn, of Anson; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is predeceased by her husband of 28 years; her parents; and her brother John Scamman.
