BUXTON – Norma Arlene Alexander, age 84, of Cheechako Road, died on Wednesday, March 7, at her daughter’s residence.

She was born in Portland, on Aug. 13, 1922, a daughter of Peleg and Marjorie (Rackliff) Bradford. She attended Cony High School and graduated from Lisbon Falls High School.

She had been very active in church activities and was active in the Order of the Eastern Star. She was very musically talented. In her earlier years, she played the cello on the radio, in an orchestra, and at family gatherings. She also enjoyed gardening, crafts and caring for children.

She is survived by seven sons, Paul Alexander Jr., of Sebago, David Alexander, of Anchorage Alaska, Haliburton Hoyt, of Chesapeake, Va., Ralph Hoyt, of Jackman, Michael Lajoie, of Palmer, Ark., John Alexander, of Anchorage, Alaska, and Gregory Alexander, of Westbrook; two daughters, Mary Arborio, of Buxton, and Elizabeth Morrison, of Portland; two brothers, Elwood Bradford, of Lewiston, and Florida and Linwood Bradford, of Auburn; a stepsister, Opal Smith, of Carmel; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul Alexander, Sr.; a daughter, Marjorie Barrieault; a brother, Peleg Bradford Jr.; a sister, Iris Ellis; and stepsisters, Maxine Fogg and Barbara Small.
