TOPSHAM – Runners, walkers and bicyclists can help support the Swinging Bridge Project by participating in the fourth annual Save Our Swinging Bridge Walk Run Ride at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 15, in Topsham’s Lower Village. Advance registration is $18; $20 after April 6.

The walk run is a challenging AFT sanctioned 5k (3.1-mile) course, up one hill and down the other, traveling into the heart of the Topsham Heights, past the historic swinging bridge, starting and ending in the center of Topsham’s lower village.

The five- and 10-mile bike rides will start in Topsham’s Lower Village, follow Elm Street, traverse Foreside Road and return to the Lower Village.

Both the walk run and the bicycle rides are appropriate for families. Awards will be given for the 5K at the post-event celebration at the start area. Proceeds will benefit the Swinging Bridge Fund.

Register on-line at www.active.com or a registration form may be downloaded from www.saveourbridge.org Registration and preregistration packet pick-up will begin at 8:30 a.m. April 15 behind Hair Matters II, 10 Main St. Event T-shirts will be given to the first 100 registrants on a first-come, first-served basis. The bicycle rides will depart at 9:45 a.m. with the 5K walk run starting at 10.
