PORTLAND – Walter A. Greifzu, 63, of Fayette, died of natural causes on Wednesday, March 7, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born Sept. 7, 1944, in Philadelphia, Pa., a son of Theodore A. and Lucy C. Greifzu. He recieved his education in Pennsylvania schools, married, and later moved to Maine where he was self-employed. His skills ranged from carpentry, to operating heavy equipment, to general repair and maintenance.

He was a member of AARP. He was caring, compassionate, logical, tough and tender, all at the same time. He was an animal lover, and a genuine environmentalist. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by one son, Tyson Greifzu and his wife, Jessica, of Fayette; and their sons, Sebastian and Lucas, also of Fayette; his former wife, Sandra Morgan, of Connecticut.

He was predeceased by his folks; and a brother, Theodore Anthony Greifzu.
