RUMFORD – A Mass of Christian Burial for John J. Bernard Sr. was celebrated Thursday morning at St. Athanasius and St. John Catholic Church. The Rev. Angelo LeVasseur was celebrant.

George Gionet was the altar server. Mark Belanger was the organist. Music selections were “Be Not Afraid,” “Precious Lord Take My Hand,” “You Raise Me Up” and “Amazing Grace.” Readings were done by Todd Bernard and Cynthia Moskal. The eulogy was given by Bill Lambert.

Pallbearers were William Lambert, Jeff Lambert, Mark Lambert, Todd Bernard, Jamie Bernard, Eric Bordeau and Ryan Bordeau. Honorary pallbearers were Tracy Pinkham, Terri Corriveau, Cynthia Moskal and Kimberly Bernard.

A reception followed in the parish hall. Spring interment will be at St. John Cemetery. Services were by S.G. Thibault Funeral Home, Rumford.
