LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens met at Murray Hall on March 5 with 29 members present. Chairwoman Shirley Couture opened the meeting with a prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for departed members and the men and women in the Armed Forces.

Mary Groleau led in singing “Beyond the Sunset.” Members welcomed back Jeannette Buck and Dora Slovak. The treasurer’s report was read and accepted.

Members signed up for the monthly SeniorsPlus meal on Monday, March 26, when the menu will be turkey and gravy, whipped potatoes, winter squash, bread sticks and tapioca pudding.

SeniorsPlus has three trips scheduled, including a Boothbay Harbor seal watch on June 28, price $51; Cabbage Island on July 19 for $71; and Lights and Ledges in Portland on Aug. 9, $43.

Members will hold a St. Paddy’s Day party Monday, March 12, and SeniorsPlus wilt have a St. Paddy’s Day meal at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 16. There will be entertainment by the Junior Franklin County Fiddlers. The meal will consist of corned beef and cabbage, whipped potatoes, wheat roll and lime mousse.

The 50-50 was won by Lois Gordon and a checkers and chess set donated by Carmen Moreau was won by Joyce Richards. The meeting was adjourned and members held a beano game.
