LEWISTON – Diana F. Poulin, 97, of 100 Campus Ave., formerly of 52 Oak St., Lewiston, died Saturday, March 10, at St. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion after a short illness, with her niece and caregiver at her side.

Born in St. Narcisse, Quebec, on May 26, 1909, she was the daughter of Cyrill and Pelagie (Taylor) Fradet. She became a naturalized citizen on Nov. 5, 1936. She had been a resident of this community since 1925, where she had been a mill worker and spinner in the local textile industry before becoming a housewife.

On May 5, 1934, she married Paul E. Poulin, who died on July 16, 1989.

She and her husband were featured in the Sun Journal for their beautiful backyard flower garden. Known for her green thumb, Diana was an expert in African violets. She donated both her time and plants to local church fairs for many years.

She was also known for her artistic talent in ceramics and leather goods.

She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, A.C.A., Sabattus Senior Citizens, Lewiston Senior Citizens, Holy Cross Senior Citizens and a member for more than 50 years of the Ladies of St. Anne’s Sodality.

She is survived by a special niece, Diane and her husband, Richard Grandmaison, of Lewiston; great-nieces, Laurie Werts, Amy and Lisa Grandmaison; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins, including the ones living in Canada. She also leaves special friends Roland and Georgette Jean of Nevada, and her card-playing group at Maison Marcotte.

She was predeceased by four brothers, Edmond, Paul, Frank and Jean Fradet; and by a sister, Mary LaFlamme.
