PORTLAND (AP) – Alexandre Giroux and Kyle Wilson had a goal and an assist apiece to lift the Hershey Bears to a 3-2 victory over the Portland Pirates in American Hockey League action Saturday.

The Bears (39-13-6-5) took a 2-0 lead in the first period after Dave Steckel scored short-handed at 4:00. Giroux tallied his team-leading 36th of the season with 52 seconds remaining.

The Pirates (28-23-3-8) tied in when Eric Weinrich scored at 18:09 of the second period and Joe Motzko collected his 21st of the season 8:35 into the third.

Wilson skated in alone to net the game-winner against Portland goalie Sebastien Caron at 11:35 of the frame.

Hershey’s Jeff Pietrasiak made 24 saves to secure the win. Caron had 28 saves.
