AUBURN – Jeannette A. Marcoux, 83, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 10, at Clover Manor.
She was born in Westville, Nova Scotia, on Nov. 17, 1923, the daughter of Joseph L. and Martha Doucette Young. She was one of 15 children and had seven sisters and seven brothers.
She was educated in Rumford schools, where she resided most of her adult life.
She was married Nov. 30, 1940, to Romeo E. Marcoux who predeceased her April 25, 1990.
She was employed at Ralph’s Dairy Joy in Rumford for many years and was a member of St. John’s Church in Rumford and later at Sacred Heart Church in Auburn.
Mem was a wonderful cook and she loved making delicious food for her family. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards, bingo and spending time with her loved ones.
She was kind and affectionate. Her beautiful smile radiated from her warm and caring heart. She was well loved by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her children, Denise Marcoux and her partner, Karen Berube, of Auburn, Jesse Marcoux of Portsmouth, N.H., and David Marcoux of Oxford, Conn; five grandchildren, Steven Webster Jr. of Auburn, Christopher Webster of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Rebecca Marcoux of Rumford, Megan Pettengill of Poland, and Darcy Pettengill of Auburn; three great-grandchildren, Ryan and Taylor Webster of Presque Isle, and Trenton Pettengill of Auburn; also brothers and sisters.
She was predeceased by her husband and a grandson, Justin Pettengill.
Her family wishes to thank Clover Manor and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for their wonderful care and concern for the family.
