PORTLAND – Mark T. Quinlivan, 49, of Monmouth, passed away on Thursday, March 8, at Maine Medical Center, after a sudden and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born May 15, 1957, in Kittery, the son of Marjorie Quinlivan and the late William Quinlivan.
He grew up in Eliot and was a graduate of Marshwood High School, Class of 1976.
He dedicated his life to his family and is loved and honored by his children.
He worked as a property manager for the Woolworth family for 19 years.
He was always willing to help out anyone in need. He loved spending time with his children and animals.
He was a trustee and avid worker at the Monmouth Museum. He was a history buff and was always interested in the Civil War. His interest of the Civil War was so strong that he would wear a uniform at many of the museum’s functions.
He also developed a hobby for making signs, which continued up until the time of his passing. He put his heart and soul into everything he did.
Mark was dearly beloved by his family and will be sadly missed by those who survive him, including his two children, Marek Quinlivan of Monmouth and his girlfriend, Carla Leach, and Desiree Quinlivan of Augusta; his mother, Marjorie Quinlivan of Eliot; two brothers, Michael Quinlivan of Dover, N.H., and Patrick Quinlivan of South Berwick.
He was predeceased by his father.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the doctors and nurses, in Section 4 of the Special Care Unit at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, for the compassionate care that they gave Mark.
