AUGUSTA – Joyce E. House, 74, of South Gardiner, passed back into God’s hand on Thursday, March 8, at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta, surrounded by her husband and children.
She was born in Madison on Sept. 17, 1932, the daughter of Maurice and Dorothy (LeClair) Guevin. She was raised in Lewiston, and then Greene. She attended Monmouth Academy.
She will always be remembered for her love of fishing and eating lobsters. She often spent summers on Moosehead Lake fishing and enjoying nature. Her hobbies consisted of collecting raccoons, reading books and knitting.
She is survived by her husband, Nick, of South Gardiner; her mother, Dorothy, of Madison; four sons, Michael Clements and wife, Tracy, of Gorham, Patrick and wife, Karen, of Boston, Mass., Robert Lauze and wife, Sharon, of New Port Richey, Fla., and Henry Mark Lauze and companion, Mary Bunnell ,of Mechanic Falls; two daughters, Donna Morin, of Greene, and Cheryl Reid and husband, Harold, of Fairfield; a stepdaughter, Emma-Jean Cote; three sisters, Louise McClamma and husband, the Rev. Alton McClamma, of Emden, Marlene Guevin, of Tampa, Fla., and Patricia Hammond, of Ogden, Utah; grandchildren, Michael, Erin, Sean, Nicholas, Derek, Kristen, Amber, Ashley, Stephanie, Justin and Jacob; and several nieces, nephews; and her good friends, Betty, Joan, Sue, Martha and Vick.
Her family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Maine General Medical Center for all their care.
