FARMINGTON – Rose J. White, 62, of Walker Hill Road, North Jay, formerly of Rumford, passed away March 9, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Rumford, with her twin sister, Clara, on Sept. 5, 1944, to the late Joseph and Aileen (Gallant) Jacques. She was raised in Rumford and attended Rumford schools.
For many years she worked in area shoe shops as a stitcher. She was very proud of her accomplishment of going back to school to earn her G.E.D., and later went on to college to earn a certificate in culinary arts. Many people may remember her as one of the twins who worked at IV Corners Too. She enjoyed camping, playing Scrabble and beano, cooking, gardening, knitting, and tending to her pets. Her favorite thing she looked forward to was going camping in Old Orchard and Fryeburg with family and friends. She often thought of others before herself, right up until the time of her death. She will be sadly missed and remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by two brothers, Joey Jacques, and Jeff Jacques and his fiancee, Jeanette, of Rumford; her companion, Bill Espeaignnette, of North Jay; beloved pets, Rizza and Pete; four sons, Mike Gauvin and his companion, Janice, Dan and his wife, Ann, Rick and his wife, Debbie, and Scott and his wife, Marie; a daughter, Chrissie and her husband, Lou Rodas, of Attleboro, Mass.; 10 grandchildren, Aaron, Chris, Marissa, Travis, Kyle, Chelsea, Caleb, Nathan, Curtis and Katie; and many special nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Clara Cunningham and Elaine Witas; and a brother, Dennis Jacques.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Miller and Dr. Bertram and the medical staff at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Thank you to all our family and friends for your support and prayers during this difficult time.
