LEWISTON – Occupational therapy students at USM’s Lewiston-Auburn College will host a holistic health fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, at USM’s Lewiston-Auburn campus, 51 Westminster St. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Highlights will include stress relief, self-care tips and therapy aids for a holistic lifestyle. Attendees will be able to experience various therapies such as cranio-sacral therapy, sound therapy, magnetic field therapy, flower essence therapy, polarity therapy, massage therapy, herbal therapy, yoga, meditation, acupuncture and chiropractic care.

There will also be an opportunity to become familiar with alternative health practices at one-hour workshops, including “Using Your Mind To Heal Your Body,” rhythmic dance therapy, reiki and shamanic practices.

Exhibitors will hold drawings for free gifts every hour through the day, including memberships at a health club and spa, therapy services, books and information and an hour of hypnotherapy.

The master of occupational therapy program at USM’s Lewiston-Auburn College, which is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy, provides instruction resulting in graduates who are prepared to pass the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Exam, and 93 percent of the graduate over the last five years have passed the exam on their first attempt, compared to a national average of 84 percent.
