WILTON – A Central Maine Power Co. representative said a wire and pole fire at the end of Masterman Avenue caused a good part of Wilton and surrounding towns to lose electrical power late Wednesday afternoon.
A total of 3,375 customers lost service around 4:30 p.m.
The Wilton Fire Department was called to the scene.
The pole is close to a CMP substation. The company sent a crew to the scene to begin repairs.
