AUBURN – Noella V. Laplante, 87, of 1062 College Road, Lewiston, died on Monday, March 12, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin, Hospice and Home Care Services in Auburn.

Born in Caribou, on Dec. 25, 1919, she was the daughter of Thomas and Delphine Cyr Vermette. She moved to the local area as a young girl and worked as a fancy stitcher, at Clark Shoe, for 30 years, and then at Crest Shoe, until her retirement.

In August of 1946, she married Romeo Laplante at Ss. Peter & Paul Church. He passed away in Oct. of 1995.

A “homebody”, she enjoyed working around her house and tending her flower garden.

Survivors include a daughter, Irene Booth, of Lewiston; a granddaughter, Terry Ann and husband, Robert Watier, of Lewiston; and two great-grandchildren, Terry Labor and Travis Watier.

Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Norbert Wayne Booth; two brothers, Albert and Lafayette Vermette; and three sisters, Martha Dumas, Regina Morin, and Bernadette Boisvert.
