DAR luncheon

FARMINGTON – Colonial Daughters Chapter, DAR, will honor Good Citizens from seven area high schools at a noon potluck luncheon on Tuesday, March 27, at Old South Congregational Church.

Students being recognized are Kelly Palmer, Rumford; Brielle Virgin-Brooks, Dixfield; Joseph Gagnon, Jay; Hannah James, Avon; Krista Brackett, Rangeley; Aubray Landry, Livermore, Falls; and Dora Plancon, New Sharon.

The top candidate will read her/his winning theme to those in attendance, which will also include parents and principals. “A Humorous Talk on Frugality” will be given by Norma Boothby. Guests and spouse of the Daughters are encouraged to attend.

Society supper

CARTHAGE – The Carthage Historical Society will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, starting with a potluck supper. The program will feature Cindy Osgood of R.S. Osgood and Sons of East Dixfield. She is a fourth-generation Osgood to run the business. She will show old photos and tell the history of the local enterprise.

Play auditions

FARMINGTON – Sandy River Players have announced auditions for the spring production of “Greater Tuna” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22, and Friday, March 23, at the Alumni Theatre, university campus. The play has roles for nine to 10 males and females from teenager to older adults.
