AUBURN – In a ceremony, “Renewing a Partnership: Remembering a Partner,” Maine’s credit unions will make a donation of $10,500 to the Good Shepherd Food-Bank on Monday, March 19.

The donation will be given in memory of JoAnn Pike, founder of the Good Shepherd Food-Bank. Pike began Good Shepherd nearly 28 years ago and served as its executive director until February 2004 when she resigned. Three years ago this month, Pike died of cancer.

Maine’s credit unions recently announced that in 2006, the 17th year of the Ending Hunger Campaign, they set a new record of $315,419.26 for Ending Hunger. Since 1990, the campaign has raised more than $2.3 million to help end hunger in Maine.

Formed in 1938, the Maine Credit Union League is the state trade association for Maine’s 69 affiliated credit unions, providing a variety of services and products to assist credit unions in meeting the needs of their membership. Visit for more information.
