AUGUSTA (AP) – Bangor attorney Kevin Cuddy was nominated Friday by Gov. John Baldacci to become a Superior Court judge.

Cuddy, 62, would take the position being left vacant by Andrew Mead, who will be sworn in next week as the newest member of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.

Cuddy is a former assistant U.S. Attorney in Maine and in Washington D.C. He’s been in private practice since 1973 and has argued cases at every level of the judicial system, including the U.S. Supreme Court.
