BRUNSWICK – Singers/songwriters Lynn Deeves and Trina Hamlin will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 29, in the cinema at Frontier Cafe, Cinema and Gallery, 14 Maine St.
Deeves came to the stage via the New England Top 40 rock circuit in “spandex and spiked hair.” She wrote “Connecting the Dots” in 1996, followed by “Soul Food” in 1998. In 2001, she collaborated with fellow Mainers Anni Clark and Dan Merrill and released “under the song tree Live!” to rave reviews. 2006 saw the release of Lynn’s first solo CD, “Live at Slates.”
Deeves has performed with America, Janis Ian, Cheryl Wheeler and Ellis Paul. She recently placed second in the New England Songwriters contest. Her powerful, humorous stage presence continues to attract fans around New England and beyond.
Minneapolis-born, Hamlin attended Berklee School of Music, earning a degree in professional music. In 1998, after singing voice-overs for commercials, she stepped into the national spotlight with songs featured on TV’s “Dawson’s Creek,” television with Conan O’Brien and radio with Rick Dees.
She has opened for Rickie Lee Jones and John Hiatt. A nationally touring artist, Hamlin’s energy and passionate performance are exceeded only by her soulful harmonica-wailings in her R&B, blues-tinged songs.
Tickets are $8 at the door. Call 725-5222.
