Birding workshop

RANGELEY – A bird identification workshop will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at Saddleback Ski Area Base Lodge, sponsored by Upper Kennebec Valley Chapter of Small Woodlot Owners Association of Maine.

Jennifer Perry will initially focus on what to concentrate on when quickly trying to identify a bird, then get into specific habitats preferred by birds that might be on a wood lot and finally, weather permitting, take a bird-watching walk in the woods.

Participants should bring boots, warm wear and binoculars. The workshop is free and all are welcome. For more information, contact Patty Cornier at 474-3499 or [email protected].

Registration

TURNER – Kindergarten registration for Turner residents will be held on Monday and Tuesday, April 23 and 24, at Turner Primary School. Those who have not made an appointment should call Pat or Jan at 225-3655. The child must be age 5 on or before Oct. 15. An original birth certificate and immunization records will be required at registration.
