LEWISTON – Linwood S. Martinkus, 75, of 204 Meadowview Park, Lewiston, died Saturday, March 17, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Born in Lewiston on Oct. 25, 1931, he was the son of Stanislaus and Amilia Shimonis Martinkus.

Educated locally, he was employed in the security department at Bates College for many years.

For the past several years, he was a volunteer disc jockey at the Bates College radio station, WRBC, doing a show every Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. He called the program “Bonanza,” and featured a mix of pre- and post-World War II music, covering everything from bluegrass to big bands.

Survivors include a sister, Wanda Martinkus, of Lewiston.
