The month of March is Youth Art Month and Lewiston Middle School is celebrating it with flying colors. The students art work will be up everywhere at LMS. On the first floor the oil pastel designs and block prints will be on display. The second floor will be decorated with clay projects, eraser print designs, and oil pastel landscapes. On the third floor you will find block prints, oil pastel designs, water color paintings, poster designs, and in the library there will be masks. Come on by and check it out.
Youth Art month is also being recognized around the state. At the Portland Museum of Art the Maine Art Education Association has set up a display of student artwork from all over the state. Amy Yeung has her munti-color block print design on display and Abby Campbell also represents LMS with her clay relief. The opening was on March 3rd but the display is open to the public until April 1st.
Another student art exhibit put on by the Maine Education Association and the Maine Art Education Association is on display at the Maine Education Association Office in Augusta from March 1st until Fall of this year. We encourage you to attend the art opening on March 25th from 1 to 3 p.m.
Refreshments will be available.
Student artwork representing LMS is a watercolor painting by Kelsey Cope-Norris and a self portrait drawing from Anthony Vangeli. Congratulations to all the students whose artwork is on display. And to everyone who visits the exhibits; enjoy the show.
