PARIS – The western Maine chapter of the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine will present a program on managing woodlots for wildlife at 7 p.m. March 22 at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
The program will be taught by Chuck Hulsey, a wildlife biologist and forester with the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, and will be held in Room B124. Signs will be posted on the high school doors.
The class is part of Maine Forest Service Forester Merle Ring’s six-week beginning woodlot management class. The SWOAM program is open to anyone.
The next SWOAM meeting will be held April 21 in Otisfield at Rich and Beth Merk’s and begins the Saturday outdoor meeting season. Mike Maines will present a four-hour program on chain saw safety and tree-felling techniques.
