Meeting speaker
LEWISTON – The National Active Retired Federal Employees Association will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, at the Ramada Inn. Christi Mitchell, state architectural historian, will be the guest speaker.
Plans for the meeting were made at the home of Vi Dumais. Attending were Sue Stetson, Mike and Flo Bohunicky, Doris Hamel and Joanne Morse.
Tickets available
LEWISTON – Mayor Laurent F. Gilbert Sr. has announced that residents are eligible to win a pair of tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Thursday, March 29. Four pairs of complimentary tickets are available.
Lewiston residents may enter the drawing three ways, and it is requested that only one entry a resident be submitted. Call Lewiston City Hall at 784-2951, ext. 224, and leave a message; fill out a registration form at the treasurer’s office on the second floor of City Hall, 27 Pine St.; or register online at http://www.ci.lewiston.me.us/tickets.htm.
The drawing will occur at noon Tuesday, March 27, and winning residents will be notified. Names will not be left on answering machines, so a daytime contact number is essential when entering the drawing.
Seeking flags
SABATTUS – The Sabattus Primary School grades kindergarten through five, along with the community and the local American Legion Post, will honor the American flag and retire worn flags at a formal ceremony at 10 a.m. June 14 at Sabattus Central School, Ball Park Road. All are invited.
The school is collecting American flags that are worn and in need of being retired. The flags can be dropped off at Sabattus Primary School or Sabattus Central School. For more information, call Diane Whalen at 375-4525.

Winners at Schooner Estates in Auburn on March 21 were: first, Jeanine Kivus and Fred Letourneau; second, Paul Barber and Luke Merry; third, Claire Lyons and Mary Leahey; first in B, Betty and Doug Sise.
