“Farmington kitten-killer gets 60 days in jail” appeared as a headline on the front page of the March 17 Sun Journal. The first line of the article reads, “A local man pleaded guilty to beating a kitten with a lock and chain and smothering it to death.”
We all love cats, so naturally we are not disappointed this person received some jail time for his cruelty, his crime. After reading the above, however, I wondered if we would ever see a headline reading: “(Maine town) abortionist gets 60 days in jail?”
Since we all love children, we would not be disappointed if a person received some jail time for his or her cruelty, and crime toward a child entering the world we call human.
Of course, it is plain in America that killing kittens is a crime, but abortion, killing children, is not. We have not progressed far from the days of ancient Greece when children were exposed to die because they were not wanted.
So a man goes to jail for 60 days for killing a kitten.
God bless the kitten.
May I write “God bless the children?”
