RUMFORD – Black Mountain Family Fun Weekend will run from today to Sunday, March 25. Schedule of events has been announced as follows:

Today

7:30 to 8:30 p.m., candlelight cross country poker run, weather and conditions permitting.

Saturday, March 24

9 a.m., fun fire drill, ages 12 and under; 9:30, fun fire drill, ages 13 to 18; 10 a.m., lollipop race, age 7 and under; 11 a.m., tubing race; noon, lunch break.

1 p.m., family Alpine race, teams of four; 2 p.m., tug of war under the bridge; 3 p.m., fire hose race, teams of four; 4 p.m., costume parade on the novice; 5 p.m., backwards race; 6 p.m., chop suey dinner, $7.50 adults/15 and under $6, until sold out; 7 p.m., Blues at Black with Paul Lowell until closing; 8:15 p.m., torchlight parade, weather and conditions permitting.

Sunday, March 25

9 a.m., Egg McMogul Race, the mystery pacesetter will set the pace on the downhill event, beat him and win a free breakfast sandwich in the cafe; 10 a.m., Alpine relay race, teams of four; 11 a.m., tubing slide; noon, lunch break, hot dog roast at the top of the expert.

1 p.m., obstacle course; 2 p.m., balloon race on novice, age 7 and under; 3 p.m., pond skimming; 4 p.m., season ends; 4:15 p.m., awards ceremony in the lodge.

All events are subject to change without notice due to conditions and weather. Sign up in the ticket office before the start of each event. There will be information on each event as it occurs.
